Congratulations to Jeff Finley of Kelowna, who has joined the Detroit Red Wings in an amateur scouting position. Finley played three seasons with the Portland Winterhawks many moons ago and parlayed his skills into a fifteen year NHL career. Last season, he was an assistant coach with the WHL champion Kelowna Rockets, working primarily with the defensive group. He will cover the western region for the Red Wings, including the WHL.
Finley replaces veteran Red Wings' scout Bruce Haralson, who will move on from the amateur scouting position in the west to a professional scouting position this season.
