The CFL This Week...

Only two games this week as the teams enter the bye-week portion of the schedule. Our picks in bold.

Saskatchewan AT Montreal: The 'Riders hate this road trip, given the hassles associated with traveling from Regina. In the past ten games at McGill University, the Als have feasted on the Roughies eight times. Anthony Calvillo has been the best QB in the CFL so far this season, overshadowing an outstanding defence. Saskatchewan has had enough walking wounded to be somewhat satisfied with a 4-4 record before Labour Day. Ouch...Als win in a walk.

Winnipeg AT B.C.: The Lions and their finiky faithful have got to be luvin' life these days. They've won two in a row and are hosting a Blue Bombers team that is in near total disarray. A win on Friday night, regardless of who plays QB for B.C., will vault the Leos to a .500 record. Wonder if the Wally Buono bashers on the lower Mainland are about ready to shut up and appreciate just how good they have it?

AND, this personal note, just for the record.

I continue to despise the way the CFL refers to Canadian players. The league, its teams and the media refer to Canadian players as "non-imports".

This drives me %$&*@+^ nuts!!!

An American or European (or whatever) player is an import!

A Canadian is a Canadian!
