It's game day in Kelowna, as the Okanagan Sun host the Langley Rams at the Apple Bowl.
It's a BCFC semi-final, but it marks the third time these two teams have met, which means there are probably few secrets on both sides along with a good measure of dislike.
The winner will travel to Victoria on Oct. 29 to battle the Westshore Rebels for the league championship...the Cullen Cup. The Rebels scored a late touchdown to edge the Vancouver Island Raiders in the first semi-final last night. The BCFC champion is slated to play host to the Canadian Bowl on Nov. 12.
Langley won the league title two years ago, then dropped the national championship game on home turf to the Saskatoon Hilltops.
Last year, the Sun won the BCFC title and traveled to Saskatoon where the Hilltops won its second consecutive Canadian Bowl.
Duty calls! Game day at the Apple Bowl. I;m looking forward to filing for the Kelowna Daily Courier today!
