WHL NEWS...

TRADE WINDS: The Kootenay Ice have acquired Ryan Molle (D) from the Swift Current Broncos in exchange for a future draft pick. Details are available by clicking here.

On his way to Cranbrook, B.C. from Speedy Creek, Saskatchewan, Molle might be stopping by his home in Calgary to connect with his parents first. His father, Bob, is well know in Canadian sporting circles as a Grey Cup winning offensive lineman with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and also an Olympic wrestling medalist. The elder Molle has also had a hand in the off-season training of Cody Almond, the Kelowna Rockets' forward who has been signed by the Minnesota Wild.

Ryan Molle, now 20, was drafted in 2007 by the New Jersey Devils. He has not been signed.

SUBWAY SERIES SITES: As suggested here a couple of days ago, the two games against Team WHL will be played in B.C. centres. However, there is a wrinkle...one site does not have a WHL team. That is, Victoria, where game one between the touring Russian side will take place on November 25. The next night, the teams will battle in Kelowna at Prospera Place. Details are available by clicking here.
