Am I the only person on the planet wondering why Dany Heatley elected to hold a press conference in Kelowna yesterday?
While there was plenty of local media treating this non-event like it was some special coup for the Kelowna area, Heatley managed to do himself absolutely no favours.
Earning $7.5million per season and then attempting to explain why a "diminished role" has become the cause of the consternation in the Ottawa Senators camp, only served to diminish the fortitude of this once highly regarded Canadian forward.
In the real world, if one's role is "diminshed" by a manager (ie: coaching staff), wouldn't one logical course of action be to grow a pair, look in the mirror and elevate one's performance?
Hopefully, there is a wake up call of sorts in the near future for Mr. Heatley!
